CDL Tanker Driver: Safe Fuel Delivery Expert

The Tank wagon Fuel Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, efficient delivery, including accountability for loading and unloading the correct products into the correct tanks, and to the correct customer locations. This role requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards while providing professional customer service.

• Ensure orders are delivered to customers in a timely and safe manner
• Work unscheduled shifts as needed, while maintaining compliance with DOT hours of service
• Utilize tools and technology provided in an effective, efficient, and accurate manner
• Comply with all DOT and Haz Mat rules and regulations including pre/post-trip inspections
• Manage delivery expenses and time on shift to be as productive as possible
• Maintain regular attendance and follow designated safety practices
• Ensure a safe working environment and promptly report any safety accidents or violations to the proper management
• Comply with all Company Policies
• Strive continuously to find opportunities to improve truck routing and delivery
• Perform other duties not listed as required

• Keep direct Supervisor/Dispatcher apprised of problems, or delivery issues that are beyond a typical scope
• Keep direct Supervisor/Dispatcher apprised of maintenance issues, safety issues, or performance issues related to trucks or bulk plants
• Ensure communication with customers, suppliers, vendors, and co-workers is professional and appropriate
• Communicate customer concerns, complaints, and product issues to Supervisor/Dispatcher

• Maintain professional image of self and vehicle
• Exhibit a professional and customer friendly attitude
• Ensure accurate delivery with accompanying paperwork
• Respond appropriately to customer complaints, concerns, issues, etc.
• Review customer site for potential issues affecting the customer, other drivers, future deliveries, safety, etc. and report to dispatch

• Complete training as required to meet regulatory compliance and company guidelines
• Work as a team member to help improve individual, department and organizational productivity
• Develop and maintain skills and knowledge necessary to complete job functions
• Share experience, skills and expertise with coworkers, management, customers, etc. as appropriate

• Maintain knowledge of and follow all DOT rules and regulations, loading facility policies and procedures, and any other regulations as required
• Maintain knowledge of software, technology, and tools necessary to complete job functions
• Ensure full understanding of policies and protocols related to bills of lading, logbooks/hours of service, and drop tickets
• Maintain mechanical knowledge necessary to ensure vehicle is in safe working order and that proper paperwork is completed
• Maintain geographical knowledge of the region in which Wallis Transport/Tank Wagon operates
• Adhere to all Wallis Companies safety policies and report all safety incidents to supervisor immediately

• Attend and participate in safety meetings
• Work diligently to correct safety deficiencies in a timely manner
• Complete safety training as required
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Inform Supervisor and/or Dispatch of unsafe conditions and behaviors
• Provide recommendations and suggestions to improve safety and correct/eliminate safety issues
• Report all work-related injuries immediately
• Report all vehicle incidents/accidents or moving violations immediately

    At least 2 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle
