Location: Whiteman Air Force Base
Duties
* incumbent serves as a unit trainer/evaluator (ut/e), instructor pilot, or pilot in command.
* performs preflight weather analysis,
* incorporates precision, non-precision, and gps route navigation and instrument approaches in all mission planning and must be knowledgeable in all aspects of their operations.
* trains and evaluates aviators on basic and advanced flight techniques.
* conducts initial standardization flight evaluations for new air crew members and annual evaluations for assigned and attached pilots, including local aircraft transitions including refresher training.
* pilot will adhere to existing army flight regulations and federal aviation administration (faa) regulations.
* conducts initial instrument standardization rides for new air crew members and as a minimum conducts annual check rides for assigned and attached pilots.
* trains and evaluates ip's and provides technical supervision of the standardization program.
* serves as rotary wing maintenance test pilot examiner/function check pilot evaluator.
* trains and evaluates me/fcp's and provides technical supervision and standardization of the maintenance program.
* maintains requirements and performs function of technical inspector for aircraft assigned.
* responsible for the army aviation pre accident plan. Prepares for safety, environmental, hazardous communication, occupational health, and other inspections.
* serves as rotary wing maintenance test pilot (mtp) and/or functional check pilot (fcp).
* incumbent performs general or limited maintenance test flights following maintenance modifications or repairs to include routine scheduled maintenance.
* ensures compliance with army maintenance regulations, faa regulation specifically part 91.
* manages aircraft survivability equipment (ase) systems.

* selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
* acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
* males born after 31 december 1959 must be registered for selective service.
* participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
* failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
* this is an excepted service position that requires membership in the missouri national guard prior to the effective date of placement.

* this is a testing designated position (tdp). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment.
* incumbent must possess and continue to maintain a us army class ii flight physical.
* the employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
* this position is covered by the domestic violence misdemeanor amendment (30 sep 96) of the gun control act (lautenberg amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
* incumbent is subject to uncommon tours of duty, rotational shift assignments and compensation and/or overtime duty.
* must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
* employee will be required to wear and use personal protective equipment as required and provided by the employer. Qualifications military requirements: selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the missouri army national guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum military grade - cw5 (w-5) general experience : must be a rated pilot on flying status;
possess at least one year on-the-job experience and a competent understanding of the basic principles and concepts of this position based on possession of the appropriate federal aviation administration (faa) pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications and/or military ratings in the main-frame military aircraft; and the required competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities). Gs-13 specialized experience: applicants must demonstrate the following specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities) to qualify for entry appointments to gs-2181-12 or gs-2181-13 army national guard dual status warrant officer positions.
