What to ExpectAs a Lead, you will guide a technician team to deliver high‑quality, timely maintenance work, ensuring compliance with FAA guidelines.
Responsibilities- Lead the team to complete jobs and tasks, including delegation and judgment on when to involve management.
- Implement a smooth turnover of work to the next shift.
- Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time.
- Train and mentor technicians on projects.
- Supervise daily workload of team members.
- Manage multiple projects independently, prioritizing schedule and quality.
- Perform general mechanical functions, including panel removal/installation and sheet metal repair.
- Diagnose aircraft systems when assigned.
- Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
- Conduct aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing as required.
- Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling.
- Engage with customers on project management, pricing, and support roles.
- Communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, reading).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required.
- 8+ years of aviation maintenance experience preferred; 4+ years with program‑specific airframes.
- Self‑motivated team player able to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Reliably available for scheduled work including overtime and weekend assignments.
- Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel or valid passport ideal.
- Preferred factory training specific to aircraft type.
- Lift at least 50 lbs.; routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting.
- Basic PC skills.
- Understanding FAA regulations and guidelines.
- Problem‑solving system operations.
- Professional teamwork and project coordination.
- Team management skills.
- Directly supervise multiple technicians; work under oversight of Team Leader & Operations Manager.
- Work mainly in hangar; exposure to extreme temperatures and outdoor runs.
- Varied positions around aircraft.
- Personal hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment.
- Jacks, stands, lifts, tugs, power carts.
- Personal computer and work order prints.
- Shift differential for alternate shift assignments.
- Semi‑annual discretionary bonus.
