Automotive Shop - Diesel Mechanic

Summary

The Truck Shop – Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and replacing components on George’s fleet vehicles and equipment. This position also performs other duties as assigned.

• Service and repair fleet vehicles and equipment for George’s Inc.
• Identify problems on fleet vehicles and equipment, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Perform equipment diagnostics and troubleshoot to assess repair costs.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
• Test the functionality of parts and systems on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State Driver’s license and approval to drive per George’s Fleet Safety Program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of repair, overhaul, and replacement of major truck and vehicle components.
• Preferred:
  Valid CDL.
