Bus ​/ Transportation Driver

Gasconade County R-1 Schools is looking for a dedicated Bus Driver to join our team! Our Transportation Department plays a vital role in ensuring our students arrive at school safely, on time, and ready to learn. Transportation is duly noted as an essential part of our district and community, and we are seeking a driver who is committed to safety, customer service, and providing a caring, positive experience for our students.

The successful candidate will drive daily morning and afternoon routes and may be asked to drive additional routes as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Safely operate a school bus while supervising students
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment for students
• Work effectively with minimal supervision
• Complete daily pre-trip inspections
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bus, both inside and outside
• Make decisions that prioritize the safety and well-being of students
• Communicate and interact professionally with parents, students, and school staff
• Complete monthly reports and other administrative duties as needed
• Follow all applicable district, state, and transportation safety requirements

• Must possess an active CDL license
• Prior school bus driving experience is preferred but not required
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to student safety
• Must have a genuine caring attitude toward children
• Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Must demonstrate professional interpersonal and communication skills
