Work with IT and Operations teams to design and develop logistics plans
Handle domestic and international shipments
Maintain shipment documentation
Develop and analyze reports
Create, implement, and enforce transportation and logistics policies
Handle and complete special projects as needed
Help provide daily freight solutions to global customers
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- 1 year of experience in global logistics management (preferred)
- Knowledge of all modes of domestic and international transportation
- Understanding of comparative differences between transportation modes and their effects
- Understanding of TMS, WMS and manifesting software as related to logistics applications
- Thorough knowledge of logistics-related documentation, including bill of lading, standard claims forms, MSDS, commercial invoice, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, and export filing
- Understanding of concepts affecting transportation costs and transit times, seasonal capacity, air/ocean, transit time requirements, freight handling characteristics, and priority/expedited shipments
- May be required to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must comply with GXO COVID safety policies and applicable CDC, OSHA, state, and local requirements
Demonstrates expertise in global logistics management, including proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Capable of developing logistics plans, maintaining documentation, and analyzing reports to optimize freight solutions for global customers.
