Job Overview
The Picking Lead is responsible for supporting daily warehouse picking operations by leading associates, driving productivity, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment. This role works closely with warehouse leadership to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and help the team achieve operational goals. This is an on‑site hourly position and will require a daily presence at our Rector Seal Earth City, MO facility, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support daily picking operations within the warehouse
- Help direct workflow and assign tasks based on operational priorities
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, and performance of picking associates
- Help pick large orders and complete large pallet drops for orders
- Train and coach associates on safety, quality, and standard work practices
- Assist with onboarding and development of new associates and temp labor
- Promote a safe work environment and enforce warehouse safety policies
- Identify and communicate inventory, equipment, or operational issues to leadership
- Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and housekeeping standards
- Maintain strong communication with supervisors, shipping, receiving, and other departments
- Help drive accountability and positive team culture on the floor
3+ years of recent warehouse or distribution center experience.

- Lead by example in safety, attendance, and work ethic
- Prior leadership or lead experience
- Experience operating material handling equipment
- Basic computer and RF scanner knowledge
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a non‑climate‑controlled warehouse environment. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
