Job Overview

Saronic Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory management processes to ensure the availability of essential components and materials required for the production of autonomous surface vessels.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting production continuity, and safeguarding sensitive materials in a regulated defense environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and experience operating within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory items within ERP/inventory systems.
    • Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and reorder points to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
    • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Track material movement across warehouse and production locations to ensure system accuracy.
  • Supplier & Internal Collaboration
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of components and materials.
    • Support procurement and logistics teams in resolving receiving discrepancies or inventory-related issues.
    • Communicate inventory risks, shortages, and excess materials to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Work closely with quality control teams to ensure incoming materials meet established standards.
    • Identify and elevate quality or documentation issues impacting inventory integrity.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant defense regulations, internal security protocols, and material handling requirements.
    • Safeguard inventory against theft, damage, misplacement, and unauthorized access.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Generate inventory reports including stock levels, usage trends, turnover rates, and accuracy metrics.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of inventory transactions and adjustments.
    • Support audits by preparing required documentation and reconciling inventory records.
  • Process Improvement
    • Continuously evaluate and improve inventory control procedures and systems.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce carrying costs, and improve material visibility.
    • Support system improvements within ERP/MRP platforms.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management and control, preferably in a manufacturing or defense environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of defense industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, DFARS) is a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing and walking within the office.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.
  • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages).
