Role Overview Warehouse Lead responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and material handling. Ensures efficient logistics coordination, team performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards to support on-time customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities Lead and train warehouse staff across core functions: shipping, receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, and material handling
Process and track transactions using RF scanners, pick tickets, and warehouse management systems
Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and staging of outgoing shipments
Audit inbound and outbound shipments to maintain accuracy and quality standards
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load/unload materials, including pipe and bulk items
Coordinate daily with Customer Service and Fabrication teams to meet delivery timelines and service expectations
Maintain compliance with safety regulations, housekeeping standards, and company policies
Execute cycle counts and manage inventory accuracy, including backorder fulfillment
Troubleshoot shipping/receiving discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Utilize systems such as JD Edwards, Varsity, and rate-shopping tools (e.g., Ratelinx) for logistics and shipping operations
Coordinate freight logistics, including carrier selection, LTL shipments, and delivery scheduling (e.g., company trucks)
Manage warehouse supplies, consumables, and minor facility maintenance needs
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Provide leadership coverage and operational support in manager’s absence
Key
Skills & Qualifications Proven leadership experience in warehouse or distribution environments
Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
Intermediate PC proficiency and experience with warehouse/logistics systems
Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment
Knowledge of inventory control processes and logistics coordination
