Shipping & Warehouse Associate (1st Shift) Gerald Industries, A DEMA Company | Gerald, MO | Full-Time, Onsite $17.10/hour to start + $1.00/hour Perfect Attendance Incentive (up to $18.10/hour)
* Built-in path to Shipping Specialist - $18.30/hour base, up to $19.30/hour - typically within about six months This Job Comes With a Next Step

Most warehouse jobs hire you in and leave you there. We built this one differently.

You’ll start as a Shipping & Warehouse Associate and learn our shipping operation from the ground up - picking, packing, scanning, documentation, forklift certification, customer requirements. As you demonstrate the skill and safety habits the work requires, you move into our Shipping Specialist role and a higher base wage. Most people get there in about six months. That’s the plan we hire for.

What

You’ll Earn - and What Comes Next
  • $17.10 per hour starting base pay as a Shipping & Warehouse Associate
  • Additional $1.00 per hour Perfect Attendance Incentive for eligible employees - up to $18.10/hour*
  • Advancement to Shipping Specialist at $18.30/hour base - up to $19.30/hour with the incentive
  • Day shift only - no nights, no weekend shifts
  • 4½-day work week with an early finish every Friday
  • Minimal mandatory overtime; optional overtime available
  • Steady, year-round work - not seasonal

* The $1.00/hour Perfect Attendance Incentive is available to eligible employees who meet the requirements of the incentive program and is applied to every hour worked during the applicable pay period.

Advancement to Shipping Specialist is based on demonstrated job skills, safe equipment operation, and completion of required training rather than length of service alone. Timing varies by individual.

Your First Six Months

We’ll tell you exactly what we’re going to teach you:

  • Picking, packing, and labeling orders. Reading customer requirements. Using RF barcode scanners and our shipping software.
  • Shipping documentation and verification. Inventory counts and locations. Pallet jack and material handling equipment. Forklift training and certification.
  • Coordinating full shipments start to finish, troubleshooting order issues, and working directly with production and customer service to keep orders moving.

You’ll have a trainer, not a manual. Nobody here expects you to figure it out alone.

What You’ll Do
  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment
  • Read and follow customer‑specific shipping instructions
  • Process shipments using shipping software and RF barcode scanners
  • Verify products, quantities, and documentation before orders leave the building
  • Pull and count inventory accurately from warehouse locations
  • Load, unload, and move materials using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and - once trained and certified - forklifts
  • Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records
  • Flag inventory discrepancies or shipping issues before they reach the customer
  • Work with production and customer service to keep orders on schedule
  • Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and safe, and follow all safety and quality procedures
What We’re Looking For

We’re not looking for a resume. We’re looking for someone who shows up, catches mistakes, and can be trusted with the last step before a customer sees our work.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Shipping, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is helpful but not required - we train
  • Ability to read work instructions, shipping documents, and customer order requirements
  • Basic computer skills and basic math
  • Strong attention to detail - in shipping, the small stuff is the whole job
  • Willingness to complete our forklift training and certification (we provide it; no prior certification needed)
  • Good communication and the ability to work independently and on a team
  • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to working safely
Straight Talk About the Work

So there are no surprises on your first day: this is an active role on your feet most of the day, lifting up to 40 pounds, in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that varies in temperatures and gets loud in places. Safety glasses and sturdy closed‑toe/slip resistant footwear are required. Reasonable accommodations will…
