Adjunct Faculty – Elementary Education and Physical Education
We are inviting candidates to apply for adjunct faculty positions for upcoming semesters. Adjunct faculty positions are filled on an as‑needed basis. Qualified candidates may be contacted if an opening becomes available.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate Elementary Education courses, including an optional clinical experience component requiring school visits, in‑person at Union, Jersey City, or Kean Ocean campus.
- Teach dance courses in‑person on Kean Ocean campus (Physical Education).
- Provide at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each 3‑ or 4‑credit class taught during each semester/session.
- Provide at least 30 minutes of availability per week for each additional class taught during the semester/session.
- Provide at least 30 minutes of availability per week if teaching fewer than three credits per semester/session.
- Schedule availability in person or virtually to meet student needs.
- Master’s degree in a related field (or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctorate).
- Teaching experience (unless otherwise indicated).
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System.
Adjunct faculty are paid per credit in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
- Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
- Beginning in the 13th semester taught, an additional $75 per credit is granted.
- Eligible for state‑administered retirement plan and Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program after qualification.
Work may be required at any of our New Jersey campuses or affiliated sites, including Union, Kean Ocean (Toms River), Kean Skylands (Jefferson Township), Kean Jersey City, Brookdale (Middletown Township), Manahawkin, Princeton, and Trenton. Faculty may also teach online classes for Kean Global.
