POSITION SUMMARY: The College & Career Navigator will implement, coordinate, and monitor initiatives designed to improve College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes for students in grades 9-12. This position supports students in exploring postsecondary opportunities, achieving CCMR indicators, and successfully transitioning to college, careers, military service, or industry certification pathways. The Navigator will coordinate college and career readiness activities, provide targeted student supports, and assist with instructional capacity‑building efforts to ensure successful implementation of district CCMR goals, House Bill 3 (HB
3) requirements, and grant objectives.
The College & Career Navigator will also cultivate and expand partnerships with businesses, industry leaders, workforce organizations, institutions of higher education, and community stakeholders to increase access to work-based learning experiences, internships, apprenticeships, dual credit opportunities, industry certifications, and postsecondary pathways. Through these partnerships, the Navigator will help create seamless pathways for students to earn credentials, certificates, associate degrees, and bachelor's degrees aligned with their chosen programs of study and regional workforce needs.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate, school counselor certificate or other relevant professional certification
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree preferred - Minimum of three years of experience in education, workforce development, higher education, career counseling, student services, or a related field preferred
- Experience supporting college, career, and military readiness initiatives, dual credit programs, Career and Technical Education (CTE), P-TECH, Early College High School, or workforce development programs preferred
- Experience developing partnerships with businesses, industry representatives, community organizations, and institutions of higher education preferred
- Experience working with secondary students and families from diverse backgrounds

ESEENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Implementation and Fidelity
- Implement the Pathways to College Readiness Initiative in accordance with the approved grant application, program design, and guidelines
- Develop and manage detailed implementation plans, timelines, and activity calendars to ensure services are delivered with fidelity
- Coordinate campus-level implementation to ensure equitable access for all participating students
- Identify implementation challenges and communicate recommended adjustments to district leadership
- Coordinate college awareness and exploration activities beginning in Grade 9, including college campus visits, career exploration events, and postsecondary informational sessions
- Collaborate with campus counselor and administrators to embed college awareness activities within existing CCMR structuresfloori>
- Coordinate parent and family engagement opportunities, including college readiness workshops and campus visit participation
- Monitor participation and engagement data to ensure inclusive access for first-generation and underserved student populations
- Oversee readiness supports, including math and reading tutoring, ACT/SAT/TSI preparation, and college application guidance
- Supervise the tutoring staff to ensure alignment with program goals and student needs
- Coordinate benchmark assessments, boot camps, and targeted interventions to improve student performance on college readiness measures
- Monitor student progress toward CCMR indicators and provide data‑informed recommendations for continuous improvement
- Coordinate implementation of the teacher graduate coursework and stipend component designed to expand the district’s pipeline of dual credit‑qualified instructors
- Track teacher participation, credentialing progress, and alignment to high‑need instructional areas
- Support long‑term sustainability by increasing local instructional capacity and reducing reliance on online‑only dual credit delivery models
- Provide regular updates to district leadership regarding progress toward sustainability milestones
