Adjunct Faculty – Criminal Justice and Public Administration

Positions available for upcoming semesters. Adjunct faculty will teach courses in Criminal Justice and Public Administration across in‑person campuses (Union, Jersey City, Kean Ocean) and online via Kean Global. All positions are non‑tenure‑track.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop course materials for assigned courses.
  • Provide at least one (1) hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each 3‑credit class taught.
  • Provide an additional thirty (30) minutes of availability for each additional class taught during the semester.
  • Offer additional office hours beyond the required time at their discretion.
  • Maintain accurate records in the university’s Learning Management System.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Teaching experience, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., or Ph.D. are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency with a Learning Management System is required.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
  • Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
  • After 13 semesters taught, an additional $75 per credit is added.
  • Eligible for state‑administered retirement plan and Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.
