Kean University – Adjunct Faculty (Biological Sciences)

Department:
Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology, Biological Sciences.

• Teach one to four credit, in‑person biology courses across Union, Jersey City, and Kean Ocean campuses; courses may include lab components.
• Provide at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week per class taught. Additional classes require 30 minutes of availability each. Availability may be in person or virtual.
• Prepare syllabi, assignments, and assessments, and facilitate student learning in accordance with university guidelines.
• Participate in academic advising and student support activities as required.
• Maintain proficiency in a Learning Management System.

• Master’s degree in biology or a related field, or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level (unless otherwise indicated).
• Strong communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to work across multiple campuses and coordinate with student needs.

Pay: $2,100 per credit (effective September 2025), $2,225 per credit (effective September 2026); additional $75 per credit after 13th semester taught.

Eligibility for a state‑administered retirement plan and the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage.
