Scope of Role
This hands‑on role manages front‑office functions, errands, events, and support tasks for multiple departments. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, customer‑focused, and comfortable wearing many hats in a collaborative, growth‑stage environment.
Position SummaryThe Supply Chain Finance Manager is responsible for accounting and financial reporting tied to the company’s manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role owns site‑level month‑end close activities, fixed assets and equipment capitalization, work order variance analysis, accruals, and financial analysis supporting production and supply chain decision‑making. The role partners closely with plant operations, supply chain, and corporate finance to ensure accurate reporting and to surface variances that drive operational action.
Reports to the Senior Director of Finance.
Month‑End Close
- Execute month‑end close activities for supply chain and manufacturing, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close checklist tasks
- Prepare and post all related accruals (freight, utilities, temp labor, R&M, inbound/outbound logistics, etc.) with documented support
- Reconcile inventory, WIP, and finished goods accounts; research and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare variance commentary on manufacturing and supply chain P&L lines against budget, forecast, and prior period
Work Order and Manufacturing Variances
- Analyze work order variances daily and at close — material usage, labor, overhead absorption, and yield
- Spot and call out abnormal variances to operations, supply chain, and finance leadership with root‑cause context
- Partner with production, planning, and procurement to investigate recurring variances and support corrective action
- Maintain standard cost data in Net Suite and support periodic standard cost rolls
Fixed Assets and Capital
- Maintain the fixed asset sub‑ledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation
- Handle capitalization of new equipment: review capex documentation, confirm placed‑in‑service dates, and tag assets
- Track capex spend against approved projects and report status to finance leadership
- Support periodic fixed asset physical verifications
Financial Analysis
- Produce ongoing analysis on cost per case, cost of manufacturing, scrap and waste, freight, and other supply chain KPIs
- Support the annual budget and periodic forecasts for manufacturing and supply chain
- Build ad‑hoc analyses for cost‑savings initiatives, capital projects, sourcing changes, and process improvements
- Serve as a finance resource for plant and supply chain leadership
Controls and Audit
- Follow internal controls over manufacturing and supply chain accounting processes
- Support internal and external audit requests for related data
- Identify and recommend improvements to close and reporting processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience; food/CPG preferred
- Hands‑on experience with standard costing and work order variance analysis
- Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting and capitalization rules
- Proficiency in Net Suite (or comparable ERP) and advanced Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable on the plant floor, willing to walk the lines and chase down the “why” behind a variance
- Solid communication skills; able to explain finance concepts to non‑finance operators
- CPA high preferred/strong manufacturing accounting experience
