This Global Markets Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution aligned to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. The role supports all functions in Global Markets, including Equities, FICC, Prime Brokerage, Research, Capital Markets, and Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, institute, socialize, and govern architecture strategies, blueprints, and related frameworks.
  • Architect and design comprehensive end‑to‑end solutions that meet business requirements and author high‑level designs.
  • Consult with the business and operations to identify challenges and opportunities to improve technology effectiveness.
  • Align solution intent and architectural vision to evolving backlog of technology change.
  • Plan and prioritize technology‑focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics and features.
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure all non‑functional requirements are met (e.g., security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, reliability).
  • Lead rapid shaping of high‑level architecture and ensure it is flexible, modular, and adaptable.
  • Educate team members on technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions.
  • Assist with system design for development teams and provide solutions to resolve architectural impediments.
  • Create architectural designs using best practices, templates, and documentation, and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in architecture consulting to enable design decisions, lead design sessions, manage tradeoffs, and support successful implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to blueprints, architectural principles, and enterprise standards; support compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Identify risks, resolve conflicting priorities, and influence positive outcomes.
  • Support vendor selection decisions and provide recommendations for build‑vs‑buy.
  • Support development of prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts to validate designs.
  • Contribute to architectural patterns, principles, and guidelines.
  • Support the execution of the architecture governance board and provide input to annual financial planning and related activities.
  • Act as a senior communication channel across multiple functional domains.
Required Qualifications
  • BSc‑level degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with enterprise‑level technology strategy in an architecture organization.
  • Experience in Financial Services, specifically within Global Markets (Trading or Post‑Trade), with knowledge of the complete trade and contract lifecycle.
  • Core skills: application development (Enterprise Applications, distributed services, design, analysis); architectural methodologies and standards (UML, BPMN); quality and productivity methodologies (Six Sigma); modern application development and deployment (Automated Testing, CI/CD); broad IT knowledge (hardware, software, middleware, databases, cloud).
  • Certification or extensive experience in industry best practices in architectural methodologies and standards.
