Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced Principal Project Management/Senior Principal Project Management to join our team of qualified individuals within our Program Management Office. This position will be located at Rapid City, SD
. Please note this is an individual contributor role and is not a management/leadership opportunity.
Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.
The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams in high-tempo environments. This position will be expected to assist with reviewing status of projects and budgets, resource planning, preparing for and facilitating meetings, and supporting various administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities- Support the program to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations
- Collaborate across functions to ensure all objectives are met
- Assist with monitoring cost & schedule performance, support business management meetings and reporting to program leadership
- Supports coordinating the efforts of SMT teams, including engineers, subcontracts administrators, supplier quality assurance representatives, logistics engineers, schedule planners, and cost/material planners
- Earned value (EV) management of labor and material control accounts
- Reporting earned value and supplier status to Program Managers, GSC managers, and IPT Management
- Conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents)
- Facilitate Risk, Issue and Opportunity management
- Prepare conference/meeting presentation material (e.g., capture, collect, and compile data to create slides and other materials) for both internal and external audiences
- Participate in contractual and technical meetings and engineering reviews, takes detailed notes to facilitate creation of detailed/technically complex reports
- Captures and manages Action Items to completion and/or close
- Implementation and use of tools/templates for monitoring project progress
- Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction; exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment

Basic Qualifications For Principal Project Management- Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in project management OR Master's degree with 3 years' experience in project management
- At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data
- Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience in project management OR Master's degree with 6 years' experience in project management
- At least 4 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data
- Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
