Job description and key responsibilities for the Maintenance Mechanic I role.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- One-year experience in the maintenance mechanical field is desired.
- Demonstrated experience/skills in welding, plumbing, mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, lubrication and plant utilities.
- Basic math skills and good communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Team oriented with ability to comprehend detailed written instructions and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Maintain and repair on‑site mechanical equipment/devices.
- Dismantle, adjust, and assemble equipment according to layout plans or operating/repair manuals.
- Install mechanical systems. Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checks on devices, ensuring peak operating performance.
- Fabricate parts in support of emergency repairs or cost reduction programs.
- Perform routine inspections and maintain daily records as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Adhere to maintenance schedules, manufacturing policies, and safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Works on assignments semi‑routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from typical practice is required.
