We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead our team in Mitchell, SD. We offer a competitive salary, and a complete benefits package includes health, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, an impressive 401K match, and much more!

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 6:00am-4:30pm

Additional hours may be necessary due to downtime and/or projects

Equipment & Process Reliability Team Leadership & Development Project Management

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop plant maintenance personnel
  • Plan and manage plant outages and projects
  • Develop and foster a partnership with plant equipment suppliers
  • Ensure plant drawings, OEM documentation, and equipment files are organized and maintained
  • Set high standards for plant housekeeping and ensure standards are understood, being achieved, and continuously improved
  • Develop and continuously improve predictive and preventive maintenance practices
  • Work with operations and maintenance personnel to reduce equipment and process downtime, and improve reliability
  • Establish maintenance repair and replacement standards to meet OEM specifications
  • Continually improve standards, based on precision maintenance concepts, through providing necessary maintenance tools, processes, and training
  • Work with suppliers and management to recommend equipment and processes to improve existing operations and meet new business opportunities
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance
  • Travel up to 10%, annually

Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.

Qualifications
  • 5-7 years’ experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance; boilers; and freezers, preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in maintenance supervision
  • General knowledge and experience with plant accounting, purchasing, MRO inventory, and capital practices
  • Experience with computerized maintenance programs with strong PC skills - Microsoft Office applications
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish), desired
  • Ability to perform safety sensitive position
  • Ability to work in a facility that processes multiple proteins including beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish, lamb, rabbit, kangaroo, and egg
  • Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes
Physical Requirements
  • Consistently push and/or pull heavy objects
  • Consistently bend at the waist and/or knees or crawl
  • Consistently climb stairs; occasionally climb ladders up to 20 feet; rarely perform work on building roofs
  • Occasionally lift up to 60 pounds from floor to waist level; rarely team lift up to 150 pounds
  • Stand up to 100% of the workday
  • Ability to distinguish colors (ex: wire color codes)
  • Tolerance of varying environmental conditions – heat, cold, and/or wet and slippery conditions
