TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a travel nursing assignment in Mitchell, South Dakota.

• Provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery.
• Ensure medical and emotional needs of patients are met throughout the birthing process.
• Assist physicians with epidural administration, pain medication, episiotomies, and cesarean delivery preparations.
• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and teach breathing techniques to patients.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation.
• Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids before and after birthing.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
• Provide immediate care of newborn.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for long periods. Must be capable of lifting 20 pounds and may lift up to 50 pounds when moving patients. Must cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.

• Active RN license.
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN, and FHM certifications.
• At least 3 years of recent acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
