Responsibilities- Greets customers in a cheerful manner as they enter the store and thanks them as they leave.
- Answers customer questions and provides assistance to ensure quality customer service.
- Retrieves and returns shopping carts to the front porch; empties carts of debris and removes defective carts from service.
- Assists customers with loading groceries into vehicles.
- Keeps parking lot, store vestibule, and front‑end clean and free of debris.
- Manages trash and recycling receptacles on the porch, empties and replaces bags as necessary.
- Remains alert to safety issues, particularly at entrance and exit areas, to prevent slip and fall hazards.
- Assists cashiers by bagging groceries as required.
- Presents promptly to intercom pages.
- Executes general cleaning duties, including sweeping, washing, mopping, and restocking supplies in restrooms and break rooms.
- May operate motor‑driven cleaning equipment (if over 18 and properly trained); maintains equipment in good repair.
- Clears sidewalks and porch of snow and ice when necessary.
- Notifies store management of needed repairs, maintenance, or unsafe conditions beyond the associate’s ability to address.
- Notifies store management when supplies are low.
- Cooperates with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department and store operation.
- Continuously seeks to improve job performance.
- Completes other duties assigned by management.
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required; no prior experience required.
- Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
- Ready to receive training for motor‑driven equipment if over 18 years old.
