As a Field Merchandiser Floater, you will work independently to showcase organizational and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations as needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from other companies in the stores you service.

Salary and Schedule Details

  • Your starting hourly pay rate will be $15.00-$17.00 per hour depending on your skills and experience.
  • Paid training provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom sessions.
  • Part-time employees are offered voluntary benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.

  • This is a part-time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours are between 10-15 hours per week.
  • Availability the week before and after major holidays (which may include weekends) is required.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You'll perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores (e.g., grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, mass retailers). The retail merchandiser role includes three major components:

  • Day-to-day engagement: Use a Hallmark-provided mobile device to restock, organize, and monitor inventory within and outside the Hallmark department. Communicate with your supervisor, report time, provide feedback, and complete required merchandising surveys. Maintain professional interaction with store employees, management, and customers. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores.
  • Holiday support: Seasonal demand drives operations around holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas). You may work additional days and extended hours during the work week and may be required to work on holidays, including weekends.
  • Department Resets: May be part of a team responsible for installations, building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Typically, you will be notified two weeks in advance of remodel assignments; this could include evenings or weekends.
  • One Team Vision: You are part of a network of merchandisers who often support other team members in their territories.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding role requiring energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms. You must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will kneel, squat, walk, and stand during the day and may climb stairs or ladders.

Basic Qualifications

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You can read, write, and understand English.
  • You can grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • You can operate a digital hand-held device to read documents and interpret information.
  • You have access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
  • You have access to transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

In compliance with applicable laws, Hallmark is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, pregnancy, national origin, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
