Position: Technical Sales Manager – Poultry & Livestock Equipment (Mitchell)

FDI Poultry Equipment is a Canadian poultry equipment manufacturer based in Mitchell, Ontario. We design, manufacture, and support practical equipment systems for poultry producers, including layer and pullet housing, feeding systems, egg collection, manure handling, floor feeding, service parts, and custom retrofit solutions.

FDI is under current ownership and entering a growth phase. We are looking for a senior, hands‑on sales leader to help rebuild and grow our presence across Canada and the United States.

This is not a desk‑based sales job. We need someone who is comfortable visiting farms, walking barns, meeting producers, working with dealers, understanding equipment needs, and helping customers make practical decisions about poultry housing, feeding, egg handling, manure handling, service, parts, and retrofit projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience selling into agriculture, livestock, farm equipment, barn systems, poultry, dairy, swine, feed systems, ventilation, manure handling, ag construction, or other technical equipment markets.

Direct poultry equipment experience is a major asset, but not required for the right technical sales professional.

Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with poultry producers, dealers, installers, and industry partners
  • Visit farms and identify equipment, retrofit, service, and parts opportunities
  • Sell poultry housing, pullet systems, manure handling, egg collection, feeding systems, and related equipment
  • Reconnect with legacy FDI customers
  • Develop new accounts in Canada and the U.S.
  • Build and support dealer relationships
  • Work with ownership, engineering, operations, and service teams
  • Manage quotes, follow‑ups, pipeline, and customer communication
  • Represent FDI at trade shows and industry events
  • Help position FDI as a practical, Canadian‑built, retrofit‑friendly equipment partner
Requirements
  • 7+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience
  • Experience selling technical equipment, agricultural equipment, livestock systems, or capital equipment
  • Comfortable visiting farms, barns, dealers, and project sites
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and custom quotes
  • Commercial judgment and margin awareness
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Canada and the United States
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to travel cross‑border as required
  • Equipment sales experience: 5 years (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel: 25% (preferred)
