AboutThe Role
As a Territory Manager, you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success within the Southern region of South Dakota, including frequent travel. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets while serving as Halter’s on‑ground representative.
Responsibilities- Prospect new business by driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, and meeting with livestock associations to build a pipeline through outbound lead generation.
- Conduct in‑field sales on horseback, in side‑by‑side, or at cattle ranches, presenting the value of Halter’s virtual fencing.
- Expand existing opportunities by identifying upsell possibilities and adding value over time.
- Manage the pipeline and hit sales targets, keeping long‑term growth in focus.
- Provide ongoing customer account management and support, ensuring satisfaction after the sale.
- Own the territory, building relationships with local, state, and federal stakeholders.
- Lead customer onboarding and coordination with support teams for smooth product deployment.
- Gather field learnings and customer feedback, acting as the primary point of contact for territory insights.
- Collaborate with support, product, and onboarding teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Attend industry events such as Cattle Con and local livestock association meetups to generate leads and deepen relationships.
- Contribute to the U.S. sales strategy by sharing insights to optimize processes for the market.
- Driven attitude and strong communication skills, adaptable to high‑stakes environments.
- Experience in ranching or cattle operations with a deep understanding of industry challenges.
- Proven success in sales and customer success, building lasting relationships rather than transactional sales.
- Territory management experience, preferably within agriculture or technology.
- Problem‑solving and collaboration ability with cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the territory.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in customer‑facing roles within ag‑tech.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
- Annual USD $750 self‑development budget.
