Maintenance Technician / Técnico de Mantenimiento – Mitchell, SD | Full-Time | Tiempo Completo | 2ND SHIFT 2PM - 10PM Monday-Friday / 2DO Turno lunes a viernes 2PM a 10PM

The Maintenance Technician will respond to maintenance requests and perform repair duties for both the plant and office. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing 3-phase, single-phase, and DC electrical circuits, general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, equipment and electrical installations, preventative maintenance, and facility support. / El Técnico de Mantenimiento responderá a solicitudes de mantenimiento y realizará labores de reparación tanto en la planta como en la oficina.

Las responsabilidades incluyen diagnosticar y reparar circuitos eléctricos de 3 fases, de una fase y de corriente continua, carpintería general, plomería, HVAC, instalaciones de equipos y eléctricas, mantenimiento preventivo y soporte general a las instalaciones.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Completion of a formal trade school program with equipment maintenance concentration, apprenticeship program and/or on-the-job training by qualified AKG North American Operations Trainer OR
• Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in the field of general repairs, including at least one (1) year of experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning.
• Must be available and able to work the agreed upon shift.

• Serve as an electrician in repairing electrical malfunctions and installing/relocating equipment.
• Serve as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, air and sewer systems.
• Serve as a carpenter in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures and furniture.
• Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment associated with the work orders and projects, take appropriate action to make the needed repairs. Document and update the Supervisor with the statuses of these assignments.
• Examine, test, and measure product from assigned equipment for quality and possible defects, use gauges and instruments, and record data on appropriate forms.
• Attend daily meetings with the Supervisor to discuss and prioritize the known work orders and projects that need to be completed.
• Be available to respond to unplanned maintenance requests received from employees throughout the plant and office.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the plant and the machine operations.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and/or requirements set forth in AKG’s environmental management system (EMS).
• Regular physical attendance is a requirement for this position. Refer to AKG attendance policy in the Information Handbook for Employees.
