What will you be doing?

Your typical daily duties will include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

Position Summary:

Work involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The National Electrical Code and all other applicable standards and specifications are followed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with company safety requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and bend conduit using a tape measure and hand tools.
  • Pull electrical wire and cable in conduit using manual and power equipment.
  • Move and handle various equipment and spools of wire.
  • Install electrical raceways and wire, conduit, lighting fixtures, controls, machinery, and electrical distribution equipment under the supervision of an experienced journeyman electrician.
  • Install and bend conduit using manual, mechanical and hydraulic benders.
  • Take proper care of material, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist electricians by performing various tasks.
  • Operate power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etc.
  • Apply knowledge of process, procedures, and methods.
  • Use common courtesy in everyday contacts with employees, clients, and the general public.
  • Represent Muth Electric professionally at all times.
  • Be able to travel out of town and stay overnight as required.
  • Be punctual and reliable on a daily basis.
Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting up to and in excess of 75 pounds unassisted, frequently throughout the day (physical work is more than 70% of the job).
  • Ability to safely climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to work independently after instructions have been given.
  • Capacity to perform full day’s assignments involving bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Requirement to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety‑related equipment.
  • Wear personal tool belt at all times on the jobsite.
  • Work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms and areas.
  • Operate in and around restricted/confined spaces such as manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, clean rooms, and raised metal floors.
  • Endure extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow, depending on job location.
  • Have specific vision abilities required.
  • Work a 40‑hour work week, with overtime and off‑hour shifts as required.

Education & Experience:

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
