Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Technician
Responsibilities Responsible for the mechanical repair and maintenance of city vehicles and equipment. Tasks include repairing and maintaining mechanical, diesel, and automotive equipment, engines, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical components, brakes, steering, suspension, drive lines, and body-frames. Performs basic service work such as oil changes, battery checks, tire inspections, and lube checks. Operates diagnostic and testing equipment and keeps the repair shop clean and organized, maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.
Operates shop equipment, machinery, precision instruments, and specialized tools, and performs related duties as assigned.
Salary $26.322 per hour starting wage.
Qualifications Knowledge and competency typically associated with completion of specialized training or a technical degree in mechanics, plus one to two years of experience. Must have or be able to readily obtain a valid Class B CDL.Benefits
