Title:
Support Group Facilitator
Reports to:
Shelter Supervisor
Hours:
2-5 hours per week – Group is held weekly in the Safe Place Conference Room
- AA/BS Degree in human services or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge, understanding and experience working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault preferred.
- Good listener, self-motivated, team player.
- Ability to respond effectively to crises.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Work directly with clients in a group setting providing trauma informed care.
- Facilitate themed sessions utilizing control logs, materials, and exercises.
- Maintain safety and security precautions at all times.
- Update Safehouse Shelter Supervisor of any safety concerns or issues with clients daily.
- Document and maintain participant attendance.
- Work closely with the shelter staff to communicate needs and to ensure seamless continuity of services.
