Position: Instructor, Workforce Development (Part-time, Adjunct Faculty)

MACC is seeking candidates interested in part‑time adjunct teaching of non‑credit customized courses. This position will be on an as‑needed basis with pay by the hour.

Candidates with industry experience in a variety of subject areas are encouraged to apply. Examples of periodically requested customized courses include, but are not limited to: technical manufacturing skills (Electricity, Welding, CNC, Fluid Power, PLC), computer related skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), and other professional skills (Leadership, Customer Service, Project Management, Communication, etc.).

Applicants will be added to our “pool” of instructors. Industry experience in the subject area is required. The instructor will report to the Director of Workforce Development and the Dean of Workforce Development and Technical Education.

Qualifications
  • 3 years of industry experience in the subject area
  • Degree preferred in the subject area
  • Teaching experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • Teach classes assigned by the Workforce Development Center, which could be held during the day, in the evening, on‑site at a company location, or at any campus location.
  • Provide effective instruction that includes active and meaningful learning activities and frequent, timely feedback to students regarding their progress.
  • Provide effective instruction that incorporates the safety protocols for lab use, equipment use, and industry-related safety protocols; meet the needs of industry and industry standards; satisfy key learning objectives and skill attainment in the subject area.
  • Develop course materials, handouts, lectures, and labs, and update them regularly to ensure relevance, currency, and alignment with course goals and desired outcomes.
