MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 60 college credit hours (staff possessing a Bachelor's Degree will be paid as Teacher Assistant+)
- Ability to work with children and effectively supervise them in all activities within the school setting.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others including students, teachers, administrators, and community partners.
- Basic technology skills and willingness to learn emerging technologies and equipment.
- Ability to organize materials, maintain equipment, and support project-based learning activities.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Experience working with students in educational, STEM, technology, makerspace, or project-based learning environments.
HOURS IN DUTY DAYS EXCLUDING LUNCH: 7.5 hours

CONTRACT DAYS WORKED: 9 months
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Create and follow weekly lesson plans for each grade.
- Assist students individually and in small groups during Lab activities and projects.
- Reinforce instruction and provide guidance during hands-on learning activities under the direction of certified staff.
- Supervise students while they use Lab equipment and technology.
- Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor student use of equipment to ensure adherence to safety procedures and district expectations.
- Organize, inventory, and maintain tools, supplies, materials, and equipment used in the Lab.
- Prepare materials and workstations for student projects and classroom activities.
- Assist students in troubleshooting equipment and technology issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance that complies with District policies and rules.
- Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community and the ability to work as a productive member of the school district team.
- Collaborate with peers, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate flexibility with change.
- Support operation of STEM lab equipment.
- Help students design and create projects, models, and products using appropriate software and equipment.
- Maintain inventories of materials including wood, vinyl, filament, robotics supplies, and consumable materials.
- Assist in researching and implementing new technologies and learning opportunities for students.
Other duties as assigned. This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Duties performed typically in district settings including classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and other assigned areas.
- Physical demands can include but are not limited to:
Exerts up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects, supplies, materials, and equipment. - Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and other physical activities are required.
- Ability to safely operate and monitor equipment used in STEM learning environments.
- Mental demands can include but are not limited to:
Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, troubleshooting, and problem solving. - Ability to supervise multiple students while maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
