Position: Adult Education & Literacy Instructor (Part-time)
The part-time AEL Instructor supports adults in earning their High School Equivalency and building foundational academic and workforce skills. The role includes creating an engaging, supportive classroom environment and meeting all state and program requirements.
For Salisbury:
Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Dulany Memorial Library in Salisbury. This position is 10 hours per week.

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and the ability to become certified by the State of Missouri to teach Adult Education & Literacy. Fingerprinting through MACHS is required for certification. Must attend the Pre-Certification and Introduction to Teaching Adults Workshops within three months of hire date.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality instruction in reading, writing, math, digital literacy, and HSE preparation aligned with the College and Career Readiness standards.Develop individualized learning plans based on student assessments, goals, and progress to ensure each learner receives targeted support.Monitor, document, and evaluate student progress using required assessments and instructional tools, adjusting instruction as needed.Maintain accurate records and reports including attendance, student data, and instructional documentation as required by the program and the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE).Participate in required professional development, including at least 20 hours of approved training annually and all state/local workshops to maintain Missouri AEL instructor certification.Assist in selecting, adapting, and developing instructional materials that support adult learners and align with the College and Career Readiness Standards.Support student recruitment and retention by participating in outreach efforts, conducting follow-ups, and helping maintain community awareness of AEL services.Collaborate with the AEL Advocate and staff to connect students with wraparound services, career resources, and referrals for additional education or training.Build and maintain community partnerships that strengthen program visibility and support learner success.Perform additional duties as assigned by program leadership to support the mission and compliance of the Missouri AEL program.#J-18808-Ljbffr
