STEM Teacher Assistant, grades 3-5 (2026/27)Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 60 college credit hours (staff possessing a Bachelor’s Degree will be paid as Teacher Assistant+)
- Ability to work with children and effectively supervise them in all activities within the school setting.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others including students, teachers, administrators, and community partners.
- Basic technology skills and willingness to learn emerging technologies and equipment.
- Ability to organize materials, maintain equipment, and support project-based learning activities.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe learning environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with students in educational, STEM, technology, makerspace, or project-based learning environments.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator or Principal
HOURS IN DUTY DAYS EXCLUDING LUNCH: 7.5 hours

ESSENTIAL
JOB DUTIES:
- Create and follow weekly lesson plans for each grade.
- Assist students individually and in small groups during Lab activities and projects.
- Reinforce instruction and provide guidance during hands‑on learning activities under the direction of certified staff.
- Supervise students while they use Lab equipment and technology.
