About the Role
The Finance Manager is responsible for providing financial leadership support to West Moberly First Nations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for the efficient and effective financial management of operations including accurate processing of transactions, maintaining proper financial records, and providing professional accounting and administrative support. The Finance Manager is also responsible for ensuring all financial reports are compliant with accounting standards and organizational policies.
This is a full-time, in-person position requiring the successful candidate to be located at the lake, in Chetwynd or Hudson Hope areas. This position has an annual salary between $100,000- $120,000. In addition, there is a robust RRSP program, a comprehensive benefits package, and, if needed, a relocation package. Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting practices, ensuring smooth and efficient processes and accurate financial records
  • Supervise and provide day-to-day management to the finance team, including coaching, training and developing high-performing team members, and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Complete bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial statements, general ledger, taxation, investments, audit preparation, reconciliation, invoicing, and payroll reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate bank deposits, tracking, and credit card reconciliation
  • With support from the Director of Finance, forecast financial, budgetary, and annual planning needs
  • Resolve financial disputes with a solution-oriented focus
  • In conjunction with the Director of Finance, develop strategic goals and objectives, and design an operational framework
  • Oversee tax administration, including ensuring property taxation requirements and assessment obligations are met
  • Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and draft policies, procedures following applicable laws for the purpose of establishing sustainable financial practices across the organization
  • Identify and recommend outsourcing and capacity building opportunities, as required
  • Ensure all internal controls are followed and report any deficiencies to the Director of Finance, along with providing recommendations on opportunities for increased controls
  • Perform related work as assigned
