Position: Instructor, Medical Surgical Clinical (part-time)

Overview

This part‑time, hourly position involves supervising nursing students in the clinical environment, evaluating their clinical performance, and grading all clinical assignments.

Responsibilities

In addition to supervisory duties, the Part‑time Instructor in the Associate Degree Nursing Program will:

Provide students with clinical instruction in their designated clinical specialty.

Orient students to the assigned clinical facility and to Moberly Area Community College.

Attend an orientation session on the curriculum and related elements of the Associate Degree Nursing Program.

Keep current evidence of licensure and education on file with the College and Health Sciences Department.

Maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Stay clinically current in their designated clinical specialty; certification is desirable but not mandatory.

Attend Associate Degree Nursing Faculty meetings as required by the Director.

Submit a semi‑monthly timesheet on payroll dates to the Department of Health Sciences.

Keep adequate records of grades, attendance, clinical performance, and anecdotal notes, and submit as necessary to the Dean or Director of Health Sciences (grades to the Registrar).

Perform duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Director of Health Sciences or the President.

Perform the duties and responsibilities for part‑time faculty as listed in the MACC Policy Handbook.

Qualifications

Current license to practice professional nursing with an undisciplined license in the State of Missouri.

Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience.

Current certification in CPR.

Current clinical expertise in the assigned area and knowledge of current adult learning principles.
