Southern Tele-Communications (STC) is locally owned and has provided sales, installation and service of VoIP Telephone Systems, Surveillance Cameras, Data Cabling, Fiber Optic Cabling, Voice and Data Circuits, Computer Networks, Managed Network Services and Internet Services in the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coast, and the Florida Panhandle for over 38 years.

Southern Tele-Communications (STC) is seeking a motivated, analytical, and adaptable individual to join our Accounting and Operations team as an Assistant Controller/Operations Associate. This position works directly alongside the Controller while also assisting leadership with operational and financial projects across the company. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow professionally, gain exposure to all aspects of a small business, and develop a strong understanding of both accounting and operations within the telecommunications industry.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with company leadership and gain hands‑on exposure to how a growing telecommunications business operates. The ideal candidate will continue developing their accounting, operational, and leadership skills while taking on increasing responsibility over time.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the Controller on daily accounting and operational activities
  • Assist with monthly customer billing and invoicing
  • Assist with daily invoicing
  • Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Perform daily bank deposits
  • Support job costing, project analysis, and operational reporting
  • Work extensively in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel
  • Assist leadership with special projects and operational initiatives
  • Learn and support multiple departments and operational functions within the company
  • Communicate with customers & vendors professionally
