Tax Accountant

Fit is assisting an establish company in downtown Mobile in their search for a Tax Accountant. In this role, you will focus on preparing a wide variety of tax returns while serving as a trusted resource for other departments. This position offers a clear path for career advancement, making it ideal for someone who is dedicated and driven to succeed in the field.

Salary range is in the $70-$90K range, DOE plus benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Calculate income tax adjustments and compile information from multiple sources
• Prepare quarterly Federal and State estimated income tax payments
• File Property, Sales & Use, Excise and Forest Products Tax Returns
• Perform research in multiple areas of taxation and communicate findings
• Draft responses to State and Local notices and assist in Audit Defense
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger tax accounts
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Accounting Degree required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail
• CPA or MST preferred
• Experience with One Source tax preparation software
