Job Summary
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution and one year professional financial aid or student services experience is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Banner experience is preferred.
The University of South Alabama’s Office of Scholarship Services is seeking to hire a Scholarship Coordinator. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Responsibilities- Enter and track outside donor scholarship payments in Banner.
- Manage external scholarship payments and verification in Backpack.
- Maintain historical record of scholarship checks received.
- Act as liaison with donor organizations on data review and return of funds.
- Assist donor groups and students with data release forms and monitor internal compliance.
- Assist Associate Director in organizing and executing program opportunities for current and prospective students.
- Coordinate student-focused events and communications leading to JagSPOT and Student Financial Services.
- Collaborate with campus partners to feature scholarships and JagSPOT at campus events.
- Manage and prepare memos and announcements.
- Assist department leadership with preparation and distribution of student and employee departmental communication and newsletters.
- Assist in marketing and building USA’s consolidated scholarship services through communications, web support, and social media interactions.
- Develop marketing literature and email communications to promote awareness of scholarship programming, JagSPOT system, and scholarship opportunities.
- Create and maintain a library of scholarship opportunities for USA students to access and promote via the Scholarship Services website.
- Assist with general web maintenance of the Scholarship Services website including ongoing review of external scholarship opportunities and liaise with Web Services on improvements and adjustments.
- Assist Associate Director in developing and executing departmental communication plan/timeline.
- Create publications for use in promoting JagSPOT and scholarship opportunities.
- Create campaigns through social media to promote existence of scholarships and other Student Financial Services.
- Partner with Enrollment Services, One-Stop, and Student Academic Success for PR through Instagram, X, and other social media outlets.
- Assist Assistant Director with campus scholarship presentations.
- Assist with scholarship deferment and exception request monitoring and adjustments.
- Track and resolve Salesforce tickets issued to the department by USA One-Stop.
- Act as liaison with Student Academic Success regarding the Earn Back Program.
- Coordinate with the Registrar’s Office to update student residency codes as it relates to scholarship eligibility.
- Plan, initiate and complete administrative and clerical duties including managing phone calls and contact logs and acting as direct front line support for incoming and current students.
- Manage and maintain oversight for departmental email account.
- Assist department staff with gathering data for reporting purposes and scholarship cleanup in Banner weekly.
- Assist in daily management of the Scholarship Resource Center.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance and work schedule as defined, with additional hours as required.
- Perform related duties as required.
