Support Services Assistant

Job Title

If you are selected for this position, you will become an essential part of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Alabama, supporting mission-critical operations that keep the district running efficiently and securely. In this role, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for performing general support duties in conjunction with several administrative services functions including managing mail operations, office supplies, records administration, and digital communications for the district.

Typical work assignments will include:

• Serves as Records Custodian by developing and managing records systems, preparing transfers to the Federal Records Center, ensuring policy compliance, and advising staff on records management practices.
• Maintains and updates internal/external websites, manages social media platforms, produces basic graphics and short videos, and supports digital communication strategies.
• Manages all USPS, interoffice, and courier mail operations, including sorting, metering, dispatching, supply upkeep, and equipment maintenance.
• Routinely manages and inventories office supplies, maintains inventory and property records, and ensures proper documentation.
• Schedules travel for office employees.
• Oversees receipt, logging, safeguarding, and delivery of incoming checks and registered mail in accordance with internal controls and Financial Litigation Unit procedures.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
