Overview
Airbus Commercial is looking for a Project Buyer (Contract) to join our Procurement team in Mobile, AL. The Project Buyer will maintain full visibility of contractual data, spend data, and the schedule of on-going tendering projects to support General Procurement in North Americas. They will support Sr/Category Buyers managing multi functional teams, coordinate tendering project schedules, and escalate risks to schedule and savings targets.
The role includes the acquisition of goods and/or services and alignment with Airbus approaches on deliveries and contractual terms and conditions.
The Procurement team's mission is to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, generating value and contributing to the company’s competitiveness. Team members ensure on-time delivery and on-quality of equipment and systems, drawing on expertise in Industrial, Operations & Quality Management, and strong relationship-building skills to problem-solve and proactively mitigate supply chain issues.
Your Working EnvironmentThe Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.
Responsibilities- Facilitate general procurement transactions to fulfill business needs and provide internal customers with goods and services in compliance with General Procurement procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure full compliance of contract storage and data availability in applicable tools (SAP, Click & Source, Click n Buy) for Category Buyers to prepare for MFTs efficiently and align operational ordering with contract scope.
- Prepare spend data analyses for tendering projects, contract amendments negotiations, and MFT preparation.
- Create and negotiate contract terms and conditions and communicate with all stakeholders.
- Drive compliance to Airbus General Procurement and related processes through robust internal communication with customers.
- Resolve procurement process blockages and recommend solutions to operational and contractual problems.
- Maintain cooperative relationships and engage in strategic and transactional activities to improve vendor relationships and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Knowledge of additional functions including finance, operations, negotiations and communications.
- Knowledge of Business Case Analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach.
- Travel required:
10% (domestic and international).
Onsite: 60% / Remote: 40%
Vision:
Daily ability to see and read computer screens and documents;
Hearing: ability to participate in conversations and hear safety warnings or alarms;
Speaking: ability to communicate in meetings and conversations;
Equipment operation: ability to operate office and production tools;
Physical requirements include carrying objects up to 30 lbs/14 kg and occasional standing, walking, and lifting as described;
Travel: rarely travel on short notice;
Onsite protection may be required on the shop floor.
