Job Description

Airbus Commercial is looking for a Project Buyer (Contract) to join our Procurement team in Mobile, AL.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining full visibility of contractual data, spend data, and schedules of ongoing tendering projects to support General Procurement in North America. You will support Senior Category Buyers who manage multi‑functional teams, drive tendering project schedules, and ensure visibility and escalation of risks to achieve schedule and savings targets. The Project Buyer will also acquire goods and/or services, following Airbus approach on deliveries and contractual terms and conditions.

The Procurement team acquires indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, generating value and contributing to the company's competitiveness. Team members ensure on‑time delivery and quality of equipment and systems, drawing on expertise in Industrial, Operations & Quality Management and strong relationship‑building skills.

Your Working Environment

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in design and development of Airbus aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services worldwide.

Your Challenges
  • Facilitate general procurement transactions to fill business needs and provide internal customers with goods and services in compliance with General Procurement procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance of contract storage and data availability in applicable tools (SAP, Click & Source, Click n Buy) for Category Buyers.
  • Prepare spend data analysis for tendering projects, contract amendment negotiations, and multi‑functional team preparation.
  • Create and negotiate contract terms and conditions and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Drive compliance to Airbus General Procurement and related processes through robust communication.
  • Resolve procurement process blockages and recommend solutions to operational and contractual problems.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships and engage vendors in strategic and transactional activities to improve relationships and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Boarding Pass
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of finance, operations, negotiation, and communications.
  • Knowledge of Business Case Analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach.
Travel
  • 10% Domestic and International.
Citizenship
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
