Position: Deputy Director of Architectural Engineering (City of Mobile)

Position Overview

This role involves responsible administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, and directing the architectural, engineering, and capital project functions of the Real Estate and Asset Management Department. The incumbent provides mid‑level municipal leadership for the Architectural Engineering Division, supports the REAM Director in advancing the City’s facility and asset management goals, and oversees project‑management standards, staff development, and inter‑departmental coordination to ensure effective, transparent, and fiscally responsible operations.

Starting Salary:
City of Mobile $80,914.

Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • At least ten (10) years of responsible professional experience in architecture, building science, civil engineering, or project management.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, Professional Landscape Architect, or an industry‑recognised certification such as PMP; a postgraduate degree preferred or equivalent portfolio of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
