Summary
The Yard Administrator is responsible for supporting daily yard operations at the Mobile, AL facility, with a primary focus on chassis inventory control, maintenance coordination, documentation accuracy, and operational support. This role ensures that all yard activities are executed in a safe, organized, and compliant manner while supporting dispatch readiness and asset visibility.
Key Responsibilities1. Yard Inventory Control & Asset Visibility
- Manage daily chassis inventory, ensuring clear segregation between TRLZ and GUSK units
- Maintain accurate records of chassis number, operational status, and physical yard location
- Prepare and submit daily yard inventory reports to internal stakeholders
- Support chassis tracking through photo documentation and GPS status verification as required
- Maintain and submit a weekly repair log, including repair history, vendors, and associated costs
- Coordinate emergency repairs to ensure chassis readiness prior to dispatch
- Process and manage red-tagged chassis in accordance with inspection results and company procedures
- Prepare and issue chassis release forms and communicate relevant details to the GUS Asset Management team
- Ensure readiness of chassis and yard equipment to support daily dispatch operations
- Assist with operational coordination between yard, drivers, and dispatch teams
- Ensure the yard, yard office, and all equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and fully functional condition
- Support compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures
- Identify and report potential safety risks or maintenance issues within the yard
- Track, record, and manage yard-related invoices and payments in coordination with internal departments
- Maintain organized documentation for audits, reporting, and operational review
- Assist with onboarding of new drivers, including installation of ELD and dash-cam systems
- Provide required company documentation and basic operational guidance to drivers
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in yard operations, logistics, transportation, or administrative support preferred
- Basic understanding of chassis operations, maintenance processes, or fleet environments is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Part-Time (Non-benefit eligible) - Compensation: $2,000/month (equivalent to $25/hour, up to 20 hours per week)
