About The Position

We are conducting a national search for a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on an approximately $800 million, ground‑up correctional facility along the Gulf Coast of Alabama/Florida.

The project consists of 25+ buildings totaling more than 700,000 square feet, including precast cell buildings, a central plant, and multiple support facilities. This is a highly complex, multi‑building project requiring an experienced field leader with a proven background in large‑scale correctional or detention construction.

The Senior Superintendent will have overall responsibility for onsite construction operations, safety, quality, scheduling, logistics, subcontractor coordination, and field execution. The successful candidate will lead a large field organization and play a critical role in delivering the project safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all onsite construction and field operations for a major correctional facility.
  • Direct large field teams, subcontractors, and trade partners.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or comparable scheduling software.
  • Coordinate construction sequencing, materials, site logistics, and manpower requirements.
  • Drive project safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Monitor progress and field productivity while identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Coordinate closely with project management and other project leadership.
  • Support project planning, risk management, forecasting, and execution strategies.
  • Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Provide strong field leadership throughout all phases of the project.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of construction experience with significant field leadership responsibility.
  • Extensive experience with detention, correctional, or prison construction.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale correctional projects, preferably projects of significant complexity and value.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large field organizations and multiple subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, safety, quality control, and field operations.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong project execution, planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work full‑time onsite along the Gulf Coast of Alabama/Florida.
  • Candidates may be based anywhere in the United States; this is a national search.
