High school diploma or equivalent and one year of security or related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Operate base radios to communicate with department staff.
• Answer telephone and direct calls to include emergency on-campus calls.
• Greet visitors and provide directions.
• Contact appropriate personnel during emergency situations.
• Complete forms.
• Enter dispatch calls into a computerized dispatch system.
• Access various data bases using a PC.
• Maintain files.
• Utilize good verbal and written communication skills when answering calls and utilizing radios.
• Remain calm and effective under heavy workloads and emergency situations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relations with public safety and other government officials, law enforcement agencies, and the general public.
• Stay abreast of all University properties and the location of each.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Other related duties as required.
