High school diploma or equivalent and one year of security or related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Responsibilities- Operate base radios to communicate with department staff.
- Answer telephone and direct calls to include emergency on-campus calls.
- Greet visitors and provide directions.
- Contact appropriate personnel during emergency situations.
- Complete forms.
- Enter dispatch calls into a computerized dispatch system.
- Access various data bases using a PC.
- Maintain files.
- Utilize good verbal and written communication skills when answering calls and utilizing radios.
- Remain calm and effective under heavy workloads and emergency situations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with public safety and other government officials, law enforcement agencies, and the general public.
- Stay abreast of all University properties and the location of each.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
- Work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Other related duties as required.
