Project Architect
Contract to Hire position
ASAP is seeking a Project Architect to support ongoing architectural projects in the Mobile, AL office of one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast. This is a high-growth opportunity for an experienced professional ready to lead diverse projects, mentor junior staff, and drive project success from design through construction completion.
This role involves managing multiple architecture projects at various phases, including those in Healthcare, Higher Education, Commercial Office Buildings, and other municipal or private sectors. The selected candidate will serve as a daily liaison with clients, oversee technical decision-making, coordinate with internal and external teams, and ensure projects meet schedule, quality, and profitability benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to assess goals and develop architectural designs.
- Produce and coordinate complete project and construction documentation.
- Collaborate and communicate with project teams, clients, and contractors to resolve challenges and ensure design intent.
- Interface with engineering consultants to align building system integrations.
- Research and apply relevant codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets to ensure profitability.
- Serve as a leader and mentor to assigned project staff.
- Organize and maintain project documentation in accordance with firm standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- 7+ years of experience in a project management or equivalent architectural role.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM
360. - Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth understanding of architectural and building systems design.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Must be self-directed and collaborative, with the ability to lead project teams.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be available for work-related travel in the Greater Mobile area (travel expenses reimbursed).
