The Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, is seeking a full-time Hepatologist to join its growing Digestive Health and Liver Disease program in the Department of Internal Medicine. This position offers a combination of outpatient clinical practice at Digestive Health and inpatient care with hospital privileges at USA Health University Hospital. The role includes opportunities for teaching, academic involvement, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience.
- Provide comprehensive outpatient hepatology care at Digestive Health
- Inpatient consultative and/or attending services at University Hospital
- Collaborate closely with gastroenterology, transplant services, surgery, oncology, and other specialties
- Participate in academic, teaching, and scholarly activities consistent with an academic appointment
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology (required)
- Board certification in Hepatology (strongly preferred)
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama
- Commitment to academic medicine, education, and patient-centered care
