The University of South Alabama, a NCAA Division I institution, charter member of the Sun Belt Conference and located on the Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking applicants for the position Coordinator – Student Athlete Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Reports dually to the Assistant Athletic Director, Student Athlete Academic Services and Assistant Athletic Director, Compliance to ensure the successful implementation of monitoring prospective and continuing student athletes’ success.
- Organizes and maintains prospective and continuing student athlete files, which include but are not limited to institutional request lists, incoming and outgoing tracer requests, serious misconduct questionnaires and grade reports.
- Advises and counsels assigned student athletes for academic and personal success which includes all responsibilities, like monitoring NCAA eligibility, typically expected of an academic advisor.
- Analyzes, inputs and interprets information for various reports.
- Evaluates high school and transfer transcripts.
- Communicates and collaborates with coaches, staff and faculty.
- Assists with planning and implementing a continuous compliance education program.
- Maintains and updates prospective and continuing student athlete information using various platforms.
- Reviews and inputs student athlete financial records.
- Ensures compliance with institutional, Sun Belt Conference, and NCAA procedures, policies, and bylaws.
- Attends various athletic events and functions, along with supervising study halls, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama. One year of Division I athletics academic services and/or compliance experience is highly preferred. A master's degree is preferred and will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.
