The University of Mobile College of Arts and Sciences and Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of History position to begin August 2026.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in History based on departmental needs, with a preference for early or modern European and World History, regular Public History courses, and MA in History and MA in Humanities. Responsibilities also include academic advising, program coordination, curriculum assessment and review, oversight of experiential student learning opportunities, and participation in recruiting events.
This position will be a full‑time, 9‑month appointment. The university academic curriculum is based on a four‑day week. Some programmatic activities require evenings and Friday coverage.
Qualifications- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in History (required)
- Earned Doctorate (Ph.D.) in History (preferred)
- Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience
