The University of Mobile College of Arts and Sciences and Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a full‑time/tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Psychology position to begin August 2026.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Psychology based on the needs of the department and will contribute to the ongoing success of UM’s Integrated 5‑Year BS in Psychology to MA in Marriage and Family Counseling program.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching undergraduate courses in Psychology.
- Academic advising
- Program coordination
- Curriculum assessment and review
- Oversight of experiential student learning opportunities
- Participation in recruiting events
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required as is experience using a learning management system. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish a positive rapport with students and to maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention.
This position will be a full‑time, 9‑month appointment. The university academic curriculum is based on a four‑day week. Some programmatic activities require evenings and Friday coverage.
Qualifications- Preferred:
Earned Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Psychology - Required:
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Psychology - Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience
