Job Description
This on‑campus position would require teaching a variety of courses including but not limited to:
Management Principles, Entrepreneurship, Social Suitability, Business Technology, and other Management courses as needed. Delivery methods include teaching in the classroom and/or online to undergraduate and/or graduate students. Additional responsibilities include advising, student club advising, involvement in department projects and activities, representing the department at campus‑wide recruiting events, and participation in campus committees. Duties also include contribution to student growth, development, and experiential learning, participation in department and institutional activities, evaluation of student performance, engagement in scholarly activities, and participation in service to the University and community.
SMSU, in its commitment to meeting the service needs of the region, expects faculty to engage in regional service, education or study as part of their community service responsibility.
- Ph.D. or DBA in Management or related field. Considerations will be made for applicants expected to receive their doctoral degree within one semester of appointment.
- Teaching experience in Management courses at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrating teaching excellence (student evaluations required).
- Professional work experience in the area of Entrepreneurship or Management.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, online and web‑supported course delivery methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and business/community groups is expected.
- Teaching experience in entrepreneurship and management courses at the graduate level.
- Evidence of current scholarly activity.
- Applicants can demonstrate teaching effectiveness in an online or Hyflex delivery method.
- Applicants can demonstrate positive student impacts outside the classroom.
- Must understand and appreciate liberal education. The University is committed to fostering a global perspective.
